Final Christmas Giveaway!

It's the final day of my giveaway and here's what I'm going to do. Now as some of you may know I have been dieting hard of late. This is what happens when you buy a wedding dress that is a tincy bit on the small side. But heck it was a bargain, and I've already reached the halfway point of my chubb shedding with a whole four months to spare!

I am, however, relaxing my rules over Christmas and I really want those damn calories to count! So I'm after Christmas recipes involving some sort of chocolate. A cake maybe, a choccie bomb, a succulent mouse--give me your best and most decadent recipes! Not cupcakes though, I totally rock at cupcakes!

I'll pick three winners and rather than just deciding which title to give you (which was what I originally planned) each winner can pick any title they like from my back list. Fantasy, contemporary, paranormal--you decide!

Merry Christmas! x

OMGOSH do I have a recipe for you! I found these on another site and they are just Fan-freaking-tastic! Chocolate Ahoy!

Slutty Brownies!
They're best served warm from the oven, with good quality vanilla ice cream.

1 Box of cookie mix,
1 Box of brownie mix,
2 Eggs,
2 Packs of Oreos (double stuffed ones are even better if you can find them)
Some oil

Preheat your oven to 350°F, 180°C, gas mark 4.
Line a baking tray with grease proof paper.
Follow the instructions on the cookie mix box & stir furiously until you have gooey cookie dough, I usually add a little extra water and oil to what they suggest, it just keeps it moist as you'll be baking it for longer than suggested. An extra teaspoon of each is just right.

Squidge (technical term) the cookie dough into a lined baking tray, until it covers the bottom.

Cover this layer with your Oreos. Don't use the broken ones, eat them as you go. This recipe is too glorious to use substandard Oreos.

Mix up your brownie batter. Just stick to the recipe on the box for this one. & pour over your Oreos.

Bake for 30mins.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
When its still a little bit warm, use the paper to lift your creation out of the tray and rest it on a chopping board.
Use a large, sharp knife to cut it into manageable chunks, sections, slabs... depending on how many calories you think you can handle in one sitting.

This is where I got it from: http://www.thelondoner.me/2011/06/slutty-brownies.html

And they are as easy as she makes them sound!

Oreo Truffles
adapted from Kraft Foods

Ingredients

1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 package Oreo cookies*
16 oz. semi-sweet chocolate**

*You can use any type of Oreo cookies with this recipe- regular, chocolate, mint, or vanilla. Also, can use white chocolate or semi-sweet.

Directions

Place the entire package of Oreos in a food processor or blender and pulse until crushed completely. If you do not have a food processor or blender, you can also place the cookies in a plastic bag and use a rolling pin to crush the cookies.

Pour the crushed cookies into a bowl and mix with the cream cheese until well blended. You should start by using a spoon, but may need to use your hands to ensure the cream cheese is evenly distributed. Place the bowl in the fridge for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Shape the mixture into 48 (1 inch) balls and place in the freezer for 30-60 minutes. While rolling, if you feel the mixture is becoming too soft, simply place the bowl in the fridge until the mixture becomes more firm.

Shortly before removing the balls from the freezer, melt the chocolate either in a double boiler or in the microwave. If using the microwave, heat in 30 second intervals and stir in between. Do this until the chocolate is completely melted. Take the melted chocolate and set aside for 1 minute. Now you can dip each ball into the melted chocolate and place on a wax or parchment paper lined baking sheet. You should have leftover chocolate.

Place the baking sheet in the fridge for 30-60 minutes. Shortly before removing the baking sheet from the fridge, take the remaining melted chocolate and if it has hardened you can place it in the microwave for 5-20 seconds. Wait a few minutes for it to cool and then place in a ziploc bag and cut a small hole in one corner. Remove the balls from the fridge and pipe the chocolate on top of each ball.

Refrigerate for about 15 minutes and then you're ready to serve!

My niece made these for me the first time I had them and I loved them. They are soooo good. You can either do the piping or not.

I have thought about trying these using Nutter Butter cookies, I think they would be really good with this!

Chocolate dipped strawberries. - Get syringe. Inject washed strawberries with cointreau. Dip in chocolate of your choice (best chocolate ever - Leonidas from Belgium), melted over hot water. Leave on wax paper to set. Eat.

I have serveral chocolate recipes since I live so close to Chocolate Town USA (Hershey, Pa-less than 25 minutes away) but I won't bombard you with all but the one that's my daughters favorite..

Dark Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Bag of Oreos (don't matter what kind but my daughters exclaim that double stuffed is better)

2 boxes of Cheesecake mix (can be found in the same isle as the puddings on the bottom shelf)

One Bag of Hershey's Special dark chocolate chips

One bottle of Hershey's Special dark syrup (Milk chocolate syrup will work, too)

Take 2/3 of the oreo cookies and crush them in zipploc bag (using a rolling pin or toss them to the kids to enjoy in the creative process)

Open the cheese cake box and toss away the graham craker mix

Prep the the crust using the crushed oreos and about 1/2 stick of softened REAL butter

Line the bottom of 9x13 baking pan with the oreo crust mix on the bottom of it

Put that to the side (I put it in the fridge but that is optional)

Prep accord to the directions the cheesecake mix. When you get that blended together add as much or as little you desire of Hershey's Special Dark chocolate chips fold in (don't whip or overly stir it)

(the amount is what you like-whole bag here but my stepmom likes to make it with 1/2 of the bag it, neither is wrong)

Gently pour the mixture over the oreo crust

Place it in the fridge for about 2 hour to solidify

After it has solidified dish it up (the first couple of pieces might be hard to come out the pan and those may be messy but the best deserts are messy)

Drizzle Dark chocolate syrup on the top of each piece and enjoy....

(PS we use special dark only cause its healthier...LOL)

Prepare bownies according the box then add half the bag of chocolate chips into the batter then bake according to the directions

Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes then icing it then sprinkle the remaining half of bag of chocolate chips on top
